Talking Fashion and Languages with Model – Yaourou Konaté Lehrmann

We recently sat down for an interesting and inspiring conversation with model and writer Yaourou Konaté Lehrmann. Yaourou is an inspirational fashion figure, who is passionate about encouraging sustainability as the future of fashion!

Yaourou was born in Paris but was raised in the southern suburbs of Paris. Yaourou’s family are originally from Mali, West Africa, but settled in France. The model and writer learned the meaning of hard work at a young age, which spurred her ambition and determination. Yaourou self-study languages since childhood because she always had a true passion for foreign languages and their culture. It was always Yaourou’s dream to learn as many languages as she could and travel the world. Yaourou is a native French speaker who is fluent in French, English, Italian and Spanish and also speak some Arabic, Bambara and German. In need of a change of scenery, Yaourou relocated to London and became a model.

“I don’t buy clothes anymore because once you have the basics there is no need for it. I used to buy so many clothes but sometimes you wear a dress once then it just sits there in your wardrobe. There is also the benefit of trying before you buy. It make sense to me financially and sustainability.”
